Haza Chan has been a musician all her life, a passionate Clarinetist, Vocalist, Songwriter, Composer and Educator. She earned her Bachelor of Music Performance in clarinet performance under the tutelage of Dr. Brian Jones at George Mason University, where she also studied Jazz Singing with Roger Letson. She has performed and recorded with a number of vocal jazz ensembles in the United States. It sparked her life-long interest in pursuing Clarinet and Vocal Jazz studies.
Upon her return to Hong Kong, she entered into the 22nd CASH songwriter quest and was awarded 3rd place. She has since been actively composing, arranging and performing her music for live and recording.
Haza is devoted to music education, she teaches Clarinet at international and local schools including St. Paul's Primary Catholic School, Pui Kiu College, Hong Kong Baptist Convention Primary School, Alliance Primary School Whampoa, Renaissance College, etc. Her students were awarded first place, second and second runner up in many Hong Kong School Music Festival competitions. She was also the Orchestral Conductor at Swatow Christian Church Kowloon City.
Apart from Clarinet and Orchestral music education, she is passionate in promoting contemporary choral music for children, introducing the younger generation to a wide range of musical genres in the choirs she conducts, including pop, jazz and theatre.
