Johnny Pun

Self Photos / Files - Johnny Pun 潘雋禮Johnny Pun is a professional collaborative pianist from Hong Kong and the Co-Founder of the International Association of Collaborative Musicians (IACM).

A recipient of the Guildhall School Scholarship and the Hong Kong British Council IELTS Prize, Johnny attained his Master of Performance (Piano) with Distinction in 2021 at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He also graduated with First Class Honours from the Hong Kong Baptist University Bachelor of Music Studies in 2018 and was elected as Student Representative for the programme in 2016-2017. He studied under renowned pianists and musicians such as Philip Jenkins, Pamela Lidiard, Iain Burnside, Caroline Palmer, Benjamin Frith, Stephan Loges and Tim Lowe.

 

Johnny shares an extensive profile working with diverse groups of instrumentalists and vocalists. At 10 years old, he was the pianist of Po Leung Kuk Camões Tan Siu Lin Primary School’s Senior and Intermediate Choir for the South Korea Busan Choral Festival & Competition. In recent years, he frequently shares the stage accompanying professional harmonica players, as well as an array of instrumental and vocal students for local and overseas performances and competitions. He is the pianist of several school and children’s choirs in Hong Kong, and has worked with professional choirs and orchestras including the Hong Kong Bach Choir, the French Choir of Asian Chamber Orchestra, The New Philharmonia Youth Orchestra of Hong Kong, HK Tak Ming Philharmonic Winds and The Children’s Orchestra of Asian Chamber Orchestra. His performances have made repeated televised and radio appearances on RTHK and i-Cable news.

 

Besides performing on the stage, Johnny is committed to promoting and supporting the Hong Kong collaborative music scene. Together with Mr. Alan Chu, he co-founded IACM and organized events to connect professional musicians and music lovers. He was invited as a guest speaker at the Hong Kong British Council 75th Anniversary Reception in 2023, and his story was published on the British Councils website.

 

Johnny’s passion for music collaboration has taken him around the world to perform in prestigious venues such as the London Milton Court Concert Hall, Sicily Palazzo Recupero-Cutore, Seoul City Hall and Plaza, Seoul Sejong Centre for the Performing Arts, Busan Cinema Centre and various Town Halls, Clubs, the Cultural Centre and the City Hall in Hong Kong.
