Hong Kong suona performer Ge Li was born in an artistic family. He graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) with an Honorary Master’s degree in Music (Performance Major) with a full scholarship. He is also the first master degree of suona major graduate from the HKAPA.
Ge is good at playing a variety of Chinese and Western instruments such as suona, saxophone, flute, guanzi, guangdong throat pipe, jinghu, and piano. He has performed on behalf of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, the HKAPA, and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council many times around the world, and has been well received.
In addition to being active on stage, Ge also has extensive experience in musical instrument teaching and orchestral conducting. He teaches suona major at the HKAPA. He is often invited to participate in the recording and video recording of pop music for radio, television and TV series. He has collaborated with numerous music producers and famous artists include Joseph Koo, Keith Chan Fai Young, Harry Ng, Chiu Tsang Hei, Lowell Lo, Leo Ku, Karen Mok, Hacken Lee, Jordan Chan, Kenny Chung, Purple Lee, Jun Kung and Australian motivational speaker Nick Vujicic, etc. Ge was invited to perform as a special guest in "Hacken Lee: 2013 World Tour" concerts which were held in many cities in North America, Southeast Asia and the Mainland. Ge is a comprehensive music educator and performer.
