Bones Lam is a professional violinist and violist in Hong Kong. He started learning viola at the age of 6. After graduating from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, he entered the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts to further study his musicianship. During his HKAPA life, he studied viola with Prof. Wang Jia Yang, violin with Mr Fan Ting and Prof. Wong Wai Ming.
Bones’s performing experiences include both solo, chamber groups and professional orchestral players. He performed under the baton of Francois-Xavier, Trevor Pinnock and Edo de Waart etc. He was also a freelance violist in Shanghai Philharmonic, Macao Orchestra, Hong Kong City Chamber Orchestra and Inheritage Philharmonic, to name a few. Bones is the founder of the MR. Quartet, as well as juries of many local music competitions.
